Türkiye's compound double

Emircan Haney, the reigning World Archery Archer of the Year, became European compound champion at home. Hazal Burun, who had won bronze at the previous edition in 2024, became the first Turkish woman to win the European compound title.

Recurve

Willem Bakker of the Netherlands took the recurve men's title ahead of Italian veteran Mauro Nespoli, with Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Mete Gazoz winning bronze in front of a home crowd. In the women's event, Nurinisso Makhmudova won gold, Spain's Elia Canales took silver and Türkiye's Elif Berra Gökkır bronze.

European Games places

The championships also served as the qualifier for archery at the next European Games, with quota places allocated according to results in Antalya.

Why it matters

Antalya has become archery's most regular host venue, staging a World Cup stage every year alongside continental championships. The results confirmed Türkiye's growth into a compound power to match its recurve success since Gazoz's Olympic title, and set up Gökkır's run to World Cup Final bronze in Saltillo four months later.
