The 2024 World Archery 3D Championships were held in the grounds of Mokrice Castle, Slovenia, from 30 September to 6 October 2024. A total of 305 archers from 31 nations competed across four bow divisions: compound, barebow, longbow and traditional (instinctive) bow.

Italy was the dominant nation, finishing with six gold, three silver and four bronze medals. Spain was second with two golds.

What 3D archery is

3D archery is shot at life-size foam animal targets placed at unmarked distances along a woodland course. Scoring zones are marked on the animal rather than as concentric rings, and archers must estimate range before every shot. It is the discipline closest to bowhunting practice, and it is why barebow, longbow and traditional archers feature so prominently at world level.

Looking ahead

The championships returned to the calendar in 2026, when Yankton, South Dakota, hosted the World 3D Championships from 28 September to 3 October immediately after the World Field Championships at the same venue. Cinzia Noziglia arrived there as defending barebow champion.
