The two largest compound bow makers in North America released their 2026 flagship lines in the same week of November 2025. Mathews announced the ARC on 12 November, and Hoyt followed with its Carbon RX-10 and Alpha AX-3 series on 13 November.
The specifications below are those published by the manufacturers and reported in the trade press. We have not tested these bows, and we do not list prices because they vary by dealer and change over time.
Mathews ARC 30 and ARC 34
The ARC replaces Mathews' previous flagship and is offered in two axle-to-axle lengths.
| Specification | ARC 30 | ARC 34 |
|---|---|---|
| IBO speed rating | 348 fps | 343 fps |
| Brace height | 6 in | 6.5 in |
| Mass weight | 3.99 lb | 4.3 lb |
| Draw length range | 25–30.5 in | 26.5–32 in |
| Peak draw weights | 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 lb | 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 lb |
| Let-off options | 80% or 85% | 80% or 85% |
Technologies named by Mathews include a second-generation SWX-2 cam with what the company calls Perimeter Weight Technology, a redesigned limb cup and limb geometry, Limb Shift Technology, Bridge-Lock accessory mounting ports and a modular grip system.
Hoyt Carbon RX-10, Alpha AX-3 and Enduro
Hoyt's headline feature for 2026 is the XTS Tuning System, which the company describes as patent-pending and says addresses both left-right and high-low arrow flight adjustments without a bow press.
| Model | Axle-to-axle | Brace height | Mass weight | Speed rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon RX-10 (also Ultra, Ultra LD, SD variants) | 30.5 in | 6.125 in | 4.1 lb | 342 fps |
| Alpha AX-3 (29 in and 33 in versions; SD and LD models) | 29 or 33 in | 6.375 in | 4.4 lb | 340 fps |
| Enduro (entry to mid-level, bow only or ready-to-hunt package) | 30 in | 7 in | 4.65 lb | 328 fps |
The RX-10 uses Hoyt's HBX Gen 4 cam system with quarter-inch draw length adjustments.
How to read these numbers
- IBO/ATA speed ratings are measured under standard conditions (typically 70 lb draw weight, 30 in draw length, 350-grain arrow) and will be lower at the draw weights and arrow weights most hunters actually use.
- Brace height is the distance from the grip to the string at rest. Shorter brace heights generally produce more speed; longer brace heights are generally considered more forgiving.
- Mass weight is the bare bow without accessories. A hunting setup with sight, rest, quiver and stabiliser adds significantly.
For how these specifications relate to the bow you should actually choose, see our explainer on compound vs recurve bows.
