Archery at the 2025 World Games was held at Qinglong Lake in Chengdu, China, between 7 and 16 August 2025. One hundred archers from 36 nations competed in seven events across compound, recurve and barebow, with compound the only discipline to include a team event.
Italy led the archery medal table with five medals (two gold, two silver, one bronze).

Schloesser's perfect final
Mike Schloesser, one of the most decorated compound archers of his generation, had never won the World Games title. In Chengdu he shot a perfect 150 in the final to beat Curtis Broadnax 150–148 and complete the set.
A fair play moment that defined the year
In the recurve competition, France's Florent Mulot noticed that his Chinese opponent had drawn on the wrong target and warned him before the arrow was released. Mulot went on to lose the match, but the gesture earned him World Archery's first Fair Play award at the 2025 World Archery Awards the following March.
Why these Games mattered
Four months before Chengdu, the IOC had confirmed compound archery for the LA28 Olympics. The World Games has been compound's highest multi-sport stage since 2013, and Chengdu was effectively the last edition before the discipline's Olympic era begins. Barebow, which also featured in Chengdu, has no Olympic pathway and the World Games remains its biggest showcase.
